Bee-keeping is good traditional monastic work. The organisation and social ordering of a beehive has much
to teach about community living! The twelve hives in the apiary provide honey for the shop and monastery
table as well as wax for the Easter and other church candles, made by the monks.
The success of the
apiary products has inspired us to invest greater energy and resources into agriculture in the coming
years.
