Faithful to St Benedict’s dictum that we are truly monks when we live by the work of our hands, the monks
operate a small farm as part of their outdoor manual work. Two herds of cattle are reared for sale and for
beef. These are rare breeds, British White and Irish Moiled. In addition to the cattle, we keep several
hundred chickens, rare breed pigs, and sheep. Father Abbot is responsible for our apiary.
